Through our gardens we aim to facilitate community-wide opportunities for learning and sharing.
We are committed to these opportunities becoming accessible and appealing to all.
By valuing the skills and expertise already present within the island community, the gardens will provide the environment in which these skills can be passed on and shared.
We are committed to creating and developing an outstanding and enduring provision for education, training and research.
Together we will demonstrate that there is a way to live richer lives; to be more resourceful; to value the importance of nature and community and to reconnect with the earth.
Our Values
The Charis Charitable Trust has three core values which underpin all the organisation’s operations and activities:
THE LAND
- the story of the human family, which is woven into the story of our Planet Earth, which is woven into the story of the whole universe
SUSTAINABLE LIVING
- how the human family can collectively live in a flourishing environment while respecting nature and our planet’s limits
LEARNING and SHARING
- within our human family, to be an outstanding educational initiative, embedded and valued within its host community and offering help and support in promoting the message of Sustainable Living
